If you are a young person thinking of one day becoming a politician then watch the Wanganui Mayor Michael Laws teach you how to become an idiot.
In don’t know this man personally but I have listened to his mouth on the radio a few times and watched him try and dance on television.
Last night I saw him in full flight on television waving his arms around and pointing his finger into the TV camera and I thought God help Wanganui if that is their Mayor.
The subject that some of the speakers were trying to talk calmly and sensibly about was family violence.
Remedies
We all know what the problem is but how many people in New Zealand know how to deal with the problem.
For what it is worth this my remedy for family violence problems we have all over the world.
The cause of violence is either mental or spiritual and often a combination of both. Mental problems require a reprogramming of the brain. Removing negative thoughts and replacing them with positive thoughts and there is a way of doing this very effectively.
Spiritual problems can only be dealt with through prayer and parents and children must be taught about the power of prayer and how to do it

One of the many reasons I would like to become Mayor of Timaru is because I want to get closer to the problem and be able to teach others how to cut out this negative behaviour. I am a family man that has experienced the hard knocks in life but through all that I now know that my family and I can be role models for other families in the country.
Sorry to spoil your party Michael Laws. I know you mean well and I wish you well in your mayoral campaign but my advice is just tone it down a bit, take a breath and listen to others for a change.
