Let’s Get Rid of The Bad Bit

We live in a world full of bad news. Its all out there isn’t it? In the newspapers, on the radio and television, every day we are continually being fed bad news.
Bad news makes us feel bad inside but despite this many people become conditioned to it and actually get pleasure out of listening to bad news. These people are normally the ones who are quick to tell you about their aches and pains and about all the bad things that are happening in the world around them. When you ask these people how they are they will often reply with the words not bad.

Not Bad, Means Not Good
What many people don’t understand is that their mind turns words into pictures. It’s the pictures that they hold in their mind that determines how they feel and by using the word bad it makes them feel bad. Even if they use the words not bad they will still feel bad.
For example, if I said to you don’t think of a pink elephant your mind would ignore the word don’t and you would instantly hold a picture in your mind of a pink elephant.
If you say to little Jonnie, don’t spill your milk his mind then holds a picture of himself spilling the milk and what happens, he spills the milk.
Have you ever thought that the main reason people say they are not bad is because they don’t want others to know they are not good.

Thank God for the Good Bit
If I could introduce a law that would make people feel better then it would be to ban the use of the word bad from peoples everyday vocabulary. Changing the choice of words to describe how you feel is not always easy but it can be done and here is how I recommend you do it.
If someone asks you how you are then regardless of how bad you may be feeling, answer by saying good. After a few weeks you will soon start feeling good and then you can move on and start answering using the word great. Then when you start feeling great you can move on again by saying you feel fantastic and terrific. Try this when you first get up in the morning. Throw back the blankets and curtains and say what a great day, I feel great, I feel fantastic, I feel terrific
Words and feelings are contagious so if you do this the people around you will soon catch on to the idea and copy what you do and say.
What sort of society do you think we would have if everyone went around saying they feel great fantastic and terrific?
It can happen and it has happened before in many homes, workplaces and towns but it can only ever happen in your patch and in your town if you start practicing it now. Once you have turned your life around by getting rid of the bad bit then you can share your success with others.
