SH1 NATIONAL NEWS LAUNCHED

A South Island based Tourism company Timaru Tourist Promotions Limited today announced that it has launched a new form of newsmedia to promote New Zealand Business and Tourism.  The launch took place in the home office of the company at 132 Gleniti Road Timaru. In attendance was the Managing Director, The General Manager, and The Cheif Excutive officer of the company Mr Ron E Bishop together with his cat Scotty. Morning tea was served at 10 am which was consisted of 3 water crackers with locally made Fontera Clandyboye cheese and Hollands natually delicious honey made in Washdyke . A refeshing cup of Aunt Daisys choysa tea was also served to the guests. In his opening speach to Scotty the cat Mr Bishop said that because there was so much crap coming out of news print presses, radio stations and television stations these days there was a huge need in New Zealand for a media which is independant and reaches a much wider world wide audiance

Telecoms manopoly
SH1 National News intends to break into the National News market by building a website in direct competition to Telecoms white and yellow pages. The advertising manopoly they hold on the New Zealand phone book market is crippling many small New Zealand businesses.
Telecoms data base has become far too big and clumbsy and there  is now a need for business telephone books to be displayed online and in hard copy.
Making good use of the power of the  internet SH1 Business Directories are now on the way to achieving that goal.

Television New Zealand
This national television company which subsidises its income from taxpayers is not interested in local small town news unless someone gets murdered. We see a need  in New Zealand to promote positive news that will help attract tourists both domestic and international to come and explore all the good things that small rural NZ towns have to offer.

Travellers Guide
The first official recording of SH1 National News will begin on the 1st November 2009 when Mr Bishop will drive to Lands End at the bottom of the South Island and make his way up SH1 to the Cape Reinga lighthouse calling on every business situated along the way.  A daily diary will be kept and its contents will appear on a special blog that has been set up  for the trip. www.travellersguide.co.nz

Business Promotion
Each business on the journey will be hand delivered a brochure which doubles as the outside cover of a NZ Travellers Guide Book. Pages for the book will be added each week and orders for copies of the book will be taken along the journey. Every business on SH1 will be given an opportunity to advertise their services in the book and online in the SH1 Business Directories.  It is believed to be the first time that contact details for every business along SH1 will ever have been recorded.

Free Publicity
Mr Bishop will also be offering some free publicity to businesess and towns in exchange for his accommadation and traveling needs.
