CAROLINE BAY TIMARU is about to be promoted world wide.
On behalf of my company Timaru Tourist Promotions Ltd we are pleased to announce the pending launch of Timaru’s very first electronic book promoting Caroline Bay. The 32 pdf pages contain over 400 full colour images on 20 different Caroline Bay subjects. The Caroline Bay book is the first in a series of Photo News Travellers Guide books which we will be publishing to promote Timaru online all around the world.
Promoting State Highway One
Caroline Bay is the first of a series of electronic books on Timaru and the next one will be of the Central Business area followed by other electronic books covering all of the Timaru District plus other towns along State Highway One. Initially the books will be launched from 8 South Island websites which cover all of the towns and cities along State Highway One between Invercargill to Christchurch.
Several years in the making
The idea of a book promoting Caroline Bay came to me in 2005 after I realised there were no books promoting Timaru as it is today. Despite the fact that the Timaru District Council gives annual grants of some $700,000 every year to promote Timaru and there is still not even a brochure or a book on Timaru’s greatest icon Caroline Bay. In an effort to do something about the situation I got busy with my camera 6 years ago and became the first known photographer to ever cover the full calendar of events at the Caroline Bay Carnival. In the same year I photographed all the Relay for Life teams and the Hadlow to Harbour events both in 2005 and 2006. The best of these photos are now available for viewing in this remarkable book. I promise that you will be pleased and surprised with what you see in Timaru’s very first electronic Photo News Travellers Guide Book.
Unique Features
Photo News Travellers Guide provides information using images rather than repeating the same story of words available on many websites. e.g. The Trevor Griffiths Rose Garden is displayed in a 4 page feature of the book but it is not just about a garden and roses. We have taken the names of each business and individual that made a contribution towards the establishment of the garden in the year 2001 and we have given them recognition in the book. All the peoples names that appear on all the plaques on Caroline Bay have also been given special recognition in the book. A special sponsors page has been set up so that anyone who sponsors or buys a copy the Caroline Bay book will have their name recorded and they will become a valuable member of Timaru’s history.
The Benefits
The Photo News Travellers Guide book Caroline Bay is not just a book recording history its also a book that can be sent all over the world electronically and because of this it is capable of promoting Timaru in a way that has never been done before. Timaru is a great place to live and bring up a family but it needs more people to strengthen its economy and provide jobs and we see this book playing an important part in doing just that.
I do hope you will give our valuable work the support it deserves.
