Timaru Gets the Thumbs Down from the Council

On the front page of the Timaru Herald today was an article informing readers that an application for funding the cost of printing the word TIMARU on the playing feild for the clash between the Crusaders and the Bulls rugby match was turned down by the Aoraki Business Development and Tourisn organisation.   Rugby is a male dominated sport and yet we have a group of women telling the men how they should promote their sport. In the last financial year the district counci gave the ADBT $676, 000 to do what they like with and they spend seem to spend it all on their own agendas. This is ratepayers money we are talking about and I think it is time these people became accountable to the Timaru District Council for what they use the money on.
