History
Thirty five years is a long time to live in a town if you are trying to promote the town. It’s a long time if the people who live in the town don’t want you to promote their town. To my knowledge I know of know other individual who has put more any energy and personal money into promoting the Timaru District than I have. I know of no other individual who has had more knock backs, been ignored taken more abuse and humiliation that I have.
Does that mean I am bitter at the way I have been treated certainly not in fact I feel sorry for those who have persecuted me and failed to support me. They are the losers and the whole district has suffered because of their apathetic attitude.
Fear
Timaru people are not driven by courage they are driven by fear. They live in a town that is run by a group of dictators and for them to keep their jobs or stay in business they have to keep their mouths shut and not criticise the hierarchy.
Many business people and government employees have told me that although they disagree with what is happening in the town they are too scared to speak out for fear of losing their jobs or the government contracts.
Independent
The reason I have never been accepted into the exclusive circle in recent years is because I refuse to be a back scratcher. I don’t go to the 5 o’clock sessions and listened to all the back slapping speeches which I know are false.
I have always done my speech making in the letters to the editor column of the Timaru Herald. My letters have always been controversial and many people have kept asking me to keep writing because they make people think. The Timaru Herald is now refusing to publish my letters anymore and I can only assume they were ordered by the hierarchy to silence me. In doing so they become the losers by denying me and others in the town freedom of speech.
Moving On
I am now turning my back on promoting the people of the Timaru district and I’m taking my talents to a world wide audience. I’m combining my photography and writing skills and publishing them in children’s books using the concept of talking to animals. On this blog are some of the animals who I intend to make world famous They are all New Zealand animals from the Timaru district and they will be used on this website to show the world what wonderful animals we have on the east coast of the South Island of New Zealand.
Goodbye Timaru people and hello children of the world as we talk to the animals and the animals talk to you and me accross the sea.
