EMPLOYMENT STORIES WANTED

We are currently looking for employment stories where people have been dismissed from their employment for what ever reason. The purpose of the book is to find out if the employment relations act is working. I have shown examples on this blog where the act is clearly not working and now I’m looking to you for feedback

If you think that you have been wrongfully treated by your employer, employee or the employment relations act then please let us know. This invitation is open to employers and employees alike.  We will publish the best selected stories in our book The One Sided Law.
With your consent we may even put some extracts of the stories on this blog.

  • There are a few rules to follow
  • We will not accept foul language in any of the stories
  • No peoples names are to be used in the stories (occupations only)
e.g  my employee or my employer

    Mr Bishop,

I have a story I’d like to share. I was an employee in a small office and I witnessed something totally unjust occur. My employer was a strange guy, he used to arrange stuffed animals in a conference room and give them motivational speeches. He also had a blog where he shared his thoughts, but couldnt work out that the only positive comments he got on it were from automatic spammers with generic “fill the gap” type comments that linked back to their own webpages. But back to the story:

I used to work at this office as a type of book keeper. I’d order the stationery and make sure the business was running smoothly. I also ran alongside this a life insurance business. One day, after I got back from a holiday, my mad employer had a go at me for stealing stuff. He said that I’d bought stuff on the company account that wasnt for work. All in all it was a few pens and some post it notes! I mean, what kind of kook has a go at you for that? Anyway, he fired me because his business wasnt making any money and he needed to get rid of me.

I made a personal grievence claim. My employeer was really unrealistic throughout. If he’d just apologised and paid me a fair amount in lost wages then that wouldve been the end of the matter. Instead, he condacended to me and tried to talk like he had the moral high ground. I left the mediation with him because he was too convinced that he was right.

So the ERA found in my favour completely. Then my employer tried to appeal. In doing so, this crazy tried to sue the bank, the police, the government, the Prime Minister, my law firm and the ERA!!! Absolute bonkers. Naturally, the Employment Court threw all that out and found in my favour AGAIN! But here is the injustice: Instead of paying up and ending the matter, this guy is still going on about it. He writes constantly on his blog complaining about the “unfair onesided law” and is saying he’ll publish a book about it. Fortunately, he has no money and everyone knows he’s nuts so its unlikely to get published. I have taken out a charging order on his house to ensure I get paid. It was the least I could do. He doesnt seem to realise that the next step is to get a sale order from court, which will force the house to be sold. He seems to think that I wont get paid until he dies, but I’ll see him sleeping in the gutter before his time is out.

Anyhoo, I’d be grateful if you could include my story in your upcoming book. Its really good that you’re doing this and I’m proud to be part of the movement to change the law. Many thanks.

  3. Well I truly enjoyed reading it. This subject offered by you is very helpful for accurate planning.

  6. Ronnie B says:

We are not using peoples names on this blog Christine so you have not only identified yourself to the world but you have broken the rules. If it was not you replying to employmwnt stories wanted then I was wondering how you knew the post was there
    Kind Regards

  7. My brother suggested I may like this web site. He was once entirely right. This publish actually made my day. You can not believe simply how so much time I had spent for this info! Thank you!

  8. Tigerbalm Onmenuts says:

Ron, I cannot tell a lie. I am not your former employee, just an interested and concerned citizen. I know it was slightly disingenuous to report a story that was so close to the one you experienced, but who amongst us hasnt taken the piss out of you? I think you’ll agree that, in the spirit of being funny, this was excusable. My favourite part was the stuffed animals thing. Friends again?

  9. Ronnie B says:

    Hello Tigerbalm.
I see your email address is called dodgy SO i must be careful of you. I had a letter from my former employee she said her friends wrote that unprofessional letter
