Dying man fights for his family and to clear their good name

When I started my campaign to change the employment laws in New Zealand I was very careful not to put people down by disclosing their name. Now that I have been diagnosed with cancer my focus is now on making sure my family are well provided for after I die.  Below is a letter I received which attacks my wife and no one does that and gets away with it.

Ron, lets get one thing straight. My name is Tigerbalm Onmenuts. Please use capitals and no spaces in the middle of either of my names. You insult my family when you fail to use proper grammar – old pappy Deepheat Onmenuts would be turning in his grave!

And whats with all this animosity? I’ve seen your house and a comfy gutter would be an upgrade. But no one is going to boot Mrs B out of her home. We are going to shift her with care and dignity to the alley behind Farmers. It will be like camping.

I’m unclear whether you are going to use my story in your book. Please confirm. If so, I think that I should be entitled to a percentage of the proceeds. I think 60% is fair. I’m sure you agree so lets call it a deal.

Who is M/s Bennet?
Christine Florence Bennet is my former employee and it would appear that as she knows so much about the case she must be the writer of the Tigerbalm Onmenuts letters or if not she is the mastermind behind them. These stab in the back letters are certainly consistent with her style

Family First
When you have been diagnosed with cancer as I have been then your focus shifts from helping others to helping your family. They say that in a crises you should save yourself first so you will then be in a position to help others. As it stands at the moment Christine Bennet and her team of lawyers RSM Law have security over our home so when we die they get the proceeds from the sale of our family home. The employment court records say that my wife and I are both bad employers in the eyes of the law and that is a mark is against our name.
My goal in the days before I die will be spent trying to get back the freehold of our home and  clearing our name from the employment court records.

Trial by Media
We have been though the court system without success so I am now going to run  a system called trial by media. When Christine Bennet stood up in a public court room and announced that Ron Bishop has bipolar disorder I was shocked beyond belief. Her solicitor from RSM Law and Judge Couch both encouraged her to do it and the local newspaper the Timaru Herald made a meal out of it in the knowledge that it would undermine my character.
I thought that to disclose someones past health records would be in breach of the Privacy Act but I have since been told the courts and the media are exempt from the privacy act.

If that is the case then this blog is the media which allows me to disclose things about people that are normally considered to be of a private nature. Keep tuned to Ronnie’s blog and read about how a dying man who is fighting for his family and to clear his good name.
