Children & the Elderly become losers in an employment dispute

An employment dispute which has been going on for 5 years is now seeing disadvantaged children the elderly and the country of New Zealand become losers as a result of the corruption in the New Zealand employment law.

Photo News Books
I am a photographer and author of several children’s animal books and other photographic books that appeal to the elderly. Many of my books have been sent overseas promoting the New Zealand rural lifestyle
The books are called Photo News. I have taken all the photographs myself written the captions, published them, raised donations from the public and given most of them away to children and the elderly for free. I have spent many hours walking the streets and the countryside taking photos for my books then knocking on doors collecting donations so I could give them away for free.

Nobody Wins
I’m afraid I will not be able to continue with my charity work because I now have a full time job defending my name and family home from a former employee whom my wife and I sacked for stealing our money and our stuff. The women is threatening to force the sale of our family retirement home if we do not pay her over $30,000 to help her pay her ever increasing lawyers bill. I have written over 400 articles on Ronnie’s blog and the majority have been about my employment issues which is leaving me with no time to continue writing Photo News books for charity. Books that once put smiles on many people’s faces will now just sit in libraries and museums and become history.

Ill Health
My charity work recently received a setback after I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. While I can still write books I no longer have the strength to go door to door raising the donations necessary so I can give them away to disadvantages children and the elderly. I am about to go into hospital for an operation on my shoulder and after that I commence treatment to stop the growth of my cancer.

Nobody Cares
I have sent thousands of emails out to people and organisations telling them about the corruption the exists in the personal grievance claims of New Zealand’s employment Law but nobody wants to listen because they themselves either stand to benefit from the one sided law or they don’t have the guts to stand up like I do and try and stop it.

If you care and would like to help either comment on this blog or email me ron@timarudirectory.co.nz

New Zealand’s Hydro Grand Hotel Longs for a New Owner

The former Hydro Grand Hotel in Timaru has had a checked past to say the least. In 2003 a syndicate was formed by a group of Timaru Businessmen who promised to develop the Bay Hill after purchasing the Hydro Grand Hotel.
Their spokesman for the Hydro Grand Syndicate at the time was a local property developer and businessman Noel Fitzgerald. Mr Fitzgerald also owned the Trailways Hotel in Timaru which is now called the Benvenue hotel.

Mr Fitzgerald’s many aspirations to see development take place in the Timaru City were rejected by the Timaru District Council so he took his investments south and invested in TeKapo and Queenstown.

Another local Timaru businessman Syd McAuley took over as spokesman for the Hydro Grand Syndicate which by then had been formed into a company called Grand Piazza Limited. He promised the Timaru people that his company planned to build a $60 million dollar 5 star hotel on the Hydro Grand Hotel site but it never ever happened and the historic hotel is now up for sale

It is interesting to note that neither of these 2 spokesman’s names have ever appeared on any records in the companies office to suggest that they were in fact ever shareholders in Grand Piazza Ltd the company that now owns the former Hydro Grand Hotel.
It would appear from the companies office records that the Hydro Grand is owned by a contributory mortgage company known as Strathallan Nominees Ltd which is believed to be associated with a local law firm known as RSM Law.

In the Timaru Herald dated wed 18th April we were informed that another Timaru contributory mortgage company known as RSM Law nominees Ltd became involved in financing Coronet Peak Hotel Ltd which is now in liquidation. RSM Law formally known as Raymond Sullivan & Mc Glashan in recent times has a history of failed investments. S C Multiple Sclerosis Society, Craighead Diocesan School. St John, Presbyterian Support Services are just a few local Timaru organisations that have become victims of their investments managed by RSM Law Limited

One of the founders and former director of the law firm Mr Edward Sullivan has had his name in the news lately after several alleged brushes with the law himself. A quick glance of the companies office records reveals that Mr Sullivan has either at some stage or still is a director of 192 companies and a shareholder in 75 companies including the ownership of Timaru’s famous old historic building the Hydro Grand.

What alarms me is how anyone with that many irons in the fire to manage could ever expect not to run into trouble. We can only pray for the investors of Timaru that when the stack of cards finally fall over not too many more victims will get hurt

If you are interested in buying one of New Zealands oldest historic hotels with one of the best seaside veiws in New Zealand then contact me on this blog or phone (03) 686 1271

Why I don’t trust the Justice System

The word trust means to rely on the integrity and ability of a person or organisation

In a previous post I told you I would write about why I do not trust lawyers but when I sat down to write it I realised that it was not only lawyers I did not trust it was other people that are involved in the New Zealand justice system.

As I began writing my experiences for my book “The One Sided Law” I realised that what I have experienced with the justice system over the years is a story that is so remarkable it deserves a bigger audiance than just those reading this blog. Based on my own life experiences the following is a group of organisations I have grown to no longer trust.

1. Employees

2. Employers

3. The Police

4. Trading Banks

5. Insurance Companies

6. Barristers

7. Lawyers

8. NZ Law Society

9. Employment Advocates

10. Department of Labour

11. Employment Relations Authority

12. Employment Court

13. Court of Appeal

14. Ombudsman

15. Politicians

16. Members of Parliament

17. The News Media

18. Church Organisations

Now that you have read this long list of organisations that I don’t trust you will be saying to yourself that there are some people who work for these organisations that can be trusted
I agree with you and I have met many such people but there is always a small minority of people that will let the side down. To prove my point why don’t you ask yourself in your own exprience how many people who work in these organisations have not been completely honest with you. If you are like me and have lost faith in any of these organisations then you can probably add a few more names to your own list.

 My Story is for Sale
Up until now I have been drip feeding parts of my life story to you enabling you free reading on Ronnie’s Blog.
To warn others I have plans to write a book, do public speaking engagements and if I live long enough I would like to see a film produced about my life experiences called the Highs and Lows of Ronnie B.

More about how you can buy my story in a later post however in the meantime send me your comments and or your story. Provided you are honest and genuine I would love to hear from you

Is Ronnie B really Mad?

One of the tactics used against me in the employment court by our former employee, her solicitor and the judge was that according to them I was suffering from a mental illness known as bipolar disorder. I argued with the judge that if I did have a mental disorder as suggested then I was not responsible for my actions and he could not make a ruling against me. His eyes rolled back in his head and he told me that I was out of order to mention such an idea.

The question many people are now asking is Ronnie B really mad. To find out the answer to that question below is a letter he recently wrote  to a local newspaper

Dear Sir

Reverse Psychology
I have been trying for many years to win Timaru people over to my way of thinking but without success so in this letter I have decided to take a new approach and use a new technique called reverse psychology and this is how it works.

Pay Rises
The big local news last week was that the Timaru ratepayers have decided to give our local Mayor an extra $80 week in her pay packet to cover the rapid increase in the price of groceries.

This brings her annual salary up to $99,600 plus a free car and free lunches. I don’t know about you but I think it is lousy that ratepayers are not paying the mayor at least $100,000 for her years work.

Don’t worry there is some good news to all this the Timaru District councillors don’t get a pay rise at all which is fair enough because they don’t work as hard as the mayor.

Don’t get me wrong I’ve no doubt that the councillors do a lot work behind the scenes for us ratepayers. You often see the lights burning late into the night behind the closed doors in that flash earthquake proof council building that we ratepayers built for them but that does not mean they deserve a pay rise as well.

Why can’t they do what we all have to do and that is only buy the groceries that are on special. However I’m so pleased that the ratepayers have given the Mayor a decent size late model motor car to drive around in. It would not be a good image if she was seen driving around town in a early model Volkswagen beetle like the richest man in the South Island once did. That would not do now would it?

I’m sorry if I have offended anyone with all this nonsense and if I don’t be careful they will certify me as being officially mad and ban me from standing for Mayor in the next local body elections

Ron E Bishop
Former Timaru Mayoral Candidate

PS  Now that you have read this letter and hopefully some of my other articles on this blog
Be honest do you think I really am mad?
Don’t be shy your comments are welcome

TIME TO DRAW A LINE IN THE SAND

After I spoke to my member of parliament during the week and she told me it would take some 4 to 5 years to change part of a law that was crippling our wonderful country, it was then that I made up my mind to draw a line in the sand. I decided to defy the law and not pay anyone who is demanding a large some of money from me and my family for an unjust judgment made by a biased New Zealand Employment Court Judge.

My wife and I have done nothing wrong except to dismiss an employee who we allege over a long period of time demonstrated to us intentional dishonesty followed up by physical violence and verbal abusive behaviour. I know of no other country in the world that has a law that expects any employer to put up with such bad behaviour. No other law that gives other people the power to force us to reward people for such bad behaviour. I would like to think that after reading the many articles on Ronnies Blog most honest New Zealanders will agree that the personal greivance laws in this country are both one sided and morally wrong

For the future of everyone in this wonderful country of ours someone has to draw a line in the sand and say enough is enough. Surely rewarding people for unacceptable behaviour in the work place is not the kind of society we want to cultivate.

In making this stand I know that have a lot to lose but my loss is only a small token compared to the large number of lives and businesses that are being destroyed daily by a senseless, non productive law that rewards people for being dishonest and then having their feelings hurt.

My last chance to make a difference
I am one of many New Zealanders who have been diagnosed with that dreaded incurable disease we call cancer. If my life is to be shortened then I pray that by drawing a line in the sand today in 2012 it will influence a change in the law that will benefit many generations to come.

Bring Back Rob’s Mob

I first met New Zealand’s former Prime Minister Sir Robert Muldoon when I was treasurer of the South Canterbury branch of the National Party. I took an instant liking to the man because he was a straight shooter, said what he thought and was not afraid to call a spade a spade.

Telling it like it is
I remember going to hear him speak in the local town hall once and there was a bloke in the audience that was giving Rob a hard time. The Prime Minister pointed his finger at him and said, “Listen young fellow if you cut your hair you may be able to see what is going on around you”
He was the only Prime Minister that was not afraid of anybody and he even ordered a political reporter out of one of his press conferences once

I think his best speech was when he said to his audience, “I can remember when there were just 7 unemployed workers in New Zealand and I knew the names and addresses of everyone of them”

He was a master at relating to the working man and they loved him for it. His supporters became what he called Rob’s Mob.

I wonder what Rob Muldoon would say today if he came back and found that the unemployed in New Zealand had climbed from just 7 workers to currently 7% of the total workforce.

How did it happen?
It was quite easy really the government of the day figured out that there were more workers than employers so to give the government more votes they introduced a law called personal grievance. This law meant it became illegal for employers to sack a worker and if they did the worker could sue them for compensation as well as their lawyers bill

One of the things that they introduced to the law was compensation for hurt feelings and humiliation and this became very popular amongst women because all they had to do was cry and lawyers and judges would feel sorry for them

The police were ordered not get involved in employment disputes even if there was criminal offending. After a while the government realised that they were breeding a group of workers who were making a handsome living by getting the sack and then suing their former bosses.

90 Days sack free
Not wanting to get off side with their voters and the unions they introduced a 90 day clause. This meant that it became illegal for a worker to sue their boss until they had been employed for 90 days. This was a sticking plaster approach to the problem because they did not take into account all those employers that were well established and had employed all their staff on a handshake before the legeslation was introduced.

Ronnie B was one of those employers who got lumbered with a women worker who unbeknown to him had been sacked for alleged assault and after getting the sack she sued her former boss for thousands. The rest of the story is well documented on this blog.

The remedy get rid of the personal grievance claims introduce some work place authority and bring back Rob’s Mob

Winston Peters & David Shearer the only polititions to acknowledge an important email

I sent an email to 18 politicians and political reporters on a very important issue for New Zealand and I only got a response from Winston Peters the Leader of NZ First and David Shearer the Leader of the Labour Party. The rest have so far remained silent

The email was addressed to members of Parliament and contained an attachment giving 30 valid reasons why the government should abolish personal grievance claims from the New Zealand Employment Law

I have just had an interview with my member of parliament  Hon Jo Goodhew about the state of the present personal grievance law which in my experience is corrupt to say the least. My Member of Parliament  gave me some suggestions on how I could fund my contribution towards a corrupt law that is crippling the country. I came away from the interview more determined than ever not to contribute any money towards her corrupt scheme. If she wants to be a part of a system that sees a family home in her community get sold from under the feet of 2 elderly pensioners than that will be on her conscience and the rest of her National political party.

Thanks for Paying her Lawyers Bill

If you are a New Zealand taxpayer then you are about to make a contribution towards the  lawyers bill of our sacked employee. Once the bailiffs take all the furniture out of our home and the lawyers sell our family home where we bought up our 4 children the proceeds will then be paid to our sacked employees solicitors. Unfortunately our sacked employee will get nothing because her lawyers bill exceeds any compensation given to her by the New Zealand Government. We will however be claiming any payments made from our estate to her law firm as a tax expense and as these payments will be a loss on our books we will get all our money back from you the tax payer

The real bad news for you is you don’t have to wait for our house to be sold because you are already contributing towards the millions of dollars that are being paid out every day to law firms and sacked employees in personal grievance claims.
