WHO'S WHO IN TEMUKA

These pages are to introduce you to the businesses and the people who work in Temuka. These people have taken the time to stand by their products and in front of their buildings to help promote their town. We are also very grateful to them for the financial commitment that each business has made to make this website possible. We invite you to come and visit Temuka and introduce yourself to the fine looking people in these photos. Tell them that Ron from Photo News Timaru Directory sent you and I’m sure they will make you welcome.

The Temuka Bypass

If you are travelling south from Christchurch on the left hand side you will see Jolly Potter and a nice drive-in carpark so you can have a drink and a bite to eat and a look around the Temuka shops. On the right hand side are one of New Zealand’s biggest farm stock yards. If you would like to see farm animals being auctioned then don’t forget to take your camera

Travelling North from Dunedin there are two main towns to go through on the way before you get to Temuka. Oamaru and Timaru. Just after you cross the Opihi River you will see these signs. King Street is the main Street of Temuka and Vine Street is the bypass road. Watch for pedestrians as there is a crossing just before you turn right into King Street where you will find the main Temuka shopping area. Clean public toilets are located on your right next to the Temuka information Centre.

Essential Services

The Information Centre, public library, public toilets and police station are an essential part of any town and should be promoted. As the Timaru District Council and the Timaru Police have both declined our application for a donation we have decided to include them at our own cost.
