Clothing
Fashions in Temuka
The Drapery at 88 King Street Temuka was the
site of the first store and post office in 1984 which after
a number of ownership changes became the beehive stores
in 1878. This was rebuilt in 1901 after a disastrous fire
and became Gapper and Sheen drapers from 1908 to 1947. At
one time it operated as a second hand store with Dobsons
transport offices and warehouse along with the TAB office
and the Boxing club gymnasium upstairs. In 1978 it became
Millers drapery and then the Drapery in 1986.
