Stans Auto Electrical - Washdyke, Timaru.

Stan Van Heeswyck was born in Geraldine and attended the Temuka High School. He served his Auto Electrical apprenticeship with Lucas Industries in King Street Timaru. Lucas was a well known name in the Auto Electrical business and they operated out of a building on the corner of King Street and Edward Street where Kitchens Direct and Dominator doors are now. After Stan finished his apprenticeship he opened up his own auto electrical business across the road where Smith Auto Services are today. His next move was to Washdyke in a bay behind Shell Washdyke then known as Northbound Motors. He also spent 2 years in a building on the corner of Seadown Road and Holmglen Road. The business was too far away from State Highway one so in 1988 he moved his business to 108 Hilton Highway next door to local Civil Engineering Contractors A V Martyn & Co.

Stan’s Auto Electrical are Agents for Endurant batteries and they are also a member of Battery Town who have links to other Auto Electrical businesses Nationwide. The advantage of dealing with a Battery Town agent is that you can be assured that you are dealing with a professional and you will always get special treatment from any where in New

Stan showed me a snap on scan tool for diagnostics that can quickly find a fault in the electronic components in any vehicle from a scooter to a large earth scraper. Much of his work these days is replacing worn out parts with new ones but he is gifted in being able to repair and make second hand parts to suit his clients budget.

A Ferrari and a Rolls Royce are not the most common cars in Timaru but Stan has worked on both of these very rare models.

Stan’s Auto Electrical Slogan is
“We do an honest job at an honest price”

Grafton Irrigation.

Following the rapid growth in the dairy industry we have also seen some tremendous growth in the industries that service the dairy farms. One of the most essential commodities required in dairy farming is water because without water there would be no grass and without grass there would be no milk. In the early 1980’s the late Graham Baxter and his wife Marjory saw the potential in irrigation units and they started Baxter Irrigation Ltd. After Grahams death Marjory and their son Lyndon expanded the service side of the irrigation business under the name of Grafton Engineering Ltd. In 2005 the business was sold to a group of like minded investors who have turned the business into a multi solutions Irrigation business.

It now has K Line Systems, Centre Pivots, Soft Nose and Hard Nose Irrigators. Mainline instulation stock water and effluent systems complimented with workshop repairs and service contracts.

The biggest growth for the company has come from obtaining the franchise for Zimmatic pivot irrigators. Mark Bennett who is one of New Zealands leading technical specialists leads the Grafton Irrigation Pivot team. The Zimmatic pivots allow farmers to maximise their yields reduce waste, improve irrigation control with savings in time and labour.

The company's main expertise is in designing, building and installing an irrigation solution system to meet the needs of all farmers big or small.

Grafton Irrigation invites you to call and talk to them about how they can help you design an irrigation system to fit your needs. You will find them at 63 Racecourse Road Washdyke near the Phar Lap Race way.
