John McCathy also known as Spongy has been in the wood business all his working life. It was while he was operating a portable saw mill that he realised the potential of turning timber such as macrocarpa into custom built furniture. In 2006 him and his wife Joanne purchased a section at 7 Laughton Street Washdyke and built a purpose built workshop and machine shop. They now deal in all aspects of joinery work such as Kitchens, Laundries, Bathrooms, and Stairwells. They also specialise in custom made solid timber joinery and double glazed doors. Jmac Joinery keeps in stock a good supply of Marcrocarpa timber which is becoming increasingly popular not only for joinery but for pergolas and exposed beams. They have all the machinery for dressing and band sawing such large items. Craig Mason is the manager of the workshop and Chris Parker manages the office. Terry Mattingly is the foreman and master tradesman. Another top tradesman Simon Darling has over 20 years experience in the timber industry. Chis Taylor and Adam Palmer are also enthusiastic valuable members of the Jmac Joinery team. Many builders and members of the public are now experiencing the quality and competitive pricing of Jmac Joinery. Give Spongy and his team of tradesman a call Phone 688 2725 or visit them at their workshop at 7 Laughton Street Washdyke.
